Au royaume de la Synth-Pop, les synthétiseurs sont rois

La Synth-Pop ou Synthipop est un sous-genre musical de New Wave créé en juin 1978 à Sheffield dans le Yorkshire par le groupe HUMAN LEAGUE et leur hit “Being Boiled”. Il sera ensuite rejoint par OMD, TEARS FOR FEARS, A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS, TALK TALK, YELLO, ALPHAVILLE… On doit noter ici l’utilisation de séquencers.

 

Le cas Sound of Frankfurt

En Allemagne, en 1983, le succès récent de la Hi-NRG et du Post-Disco a ouvert la voix à une nouvelle musique qui influencera la New Beat future, le Sound of Frankfurt. Cette musique qui infuse dans les discothèques de la ville de Francfort va atteindre son apogée entre 1986 et 1989 avec 16 BIT et OFF, deux projets de production de MICHAEL MÜNZING et LUCA ANZILOTTI.

Un variant assez sombre

A l’intérieur de la Synth-pop, la forme la plus sombre est la Gothic Pop créé en Allemagne.
